The Albanian Minister of Health and the Ambassador of Japan to Albania visit the Trauma Hospital: Increasing the capacity of services

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, together with the Ambassador of Japan to Albania, Takada Mitsuyuki, visited the University Trauma Hospital today.
The main stop of the meeting was the Emergency Room of this hospital, which has recently been equipped with a state-of-the-art scanner, which will facilitate and speed up the service to citizens.

“The Emergency Department of the University Trauma Hospital receives about 70,000 emergency cases per year from all over Albania. Thanks to the support of the Japanese government, this state-of-the-art scanner was made available. Equipment like this enables us to diagnose and respond in a timely manner to all patients who come to the Emergency Department of the University Trauma Hospital,” said Minister Koçiu. The scanner added to the Trauma Hospital expands the range of examinations, performs 3D reconstructions and works as an angioscanner. The investment in this equipment increases capacity by serving a greater number of patients.

“Our government and embassy have supported the health sector in Albania. These new machines will save more lives of Albanians and help the University Trauma Hospital. We are very committed to continue supporting the health sector in Albania,” said the Ambassador of Japan to Albania, Takada Mitsuyuki, during the meeting.
